FAQ

Answers about the app’s features, pricing, availability, and use alongside professional care.

What is Haelan?

Haelan is a self-guided wellbeing app for people living with sound sensitivity, especially hyperacusis and misophonia. It brings together short lessons, sound tools, meditations, breathing exercises, journaling, and activity history.

Who is Haelan for?

Haelan focuses on hyperacusis and misophonia, with additional educational content on tinnitus and fear of sound. People experience these conditions differently. Some tools may be useful to you and others may not be suitable, particularly if sound causes pain. A qualified clinician can help you decide what is appropriate.

Does Haelan provide medical treatment?

No. Haelan provides self-guided wellbeing and educational content. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It is designed to sit alongside professional care, and it does not promise a particular outcome.

Do I have to listen to trigger sounds?

No. You can focus on learning, reflection, and other tools that suit you. Sound practice is optional. Do not push through pain or discomfort. If sound makes your symptoms worse, stop and speak with a qualified clinician before continuing.

Is Haelan available on Android?

Haelan is currently available for iPhone through the Apple App Store. If you would like to hear about future platforms, email hello@haelanlabs.com.

How much does Haelan cost?

Haelan is free to download and offers in-app purchases. You can see the current price, trial availability, renewal terms, and what is included in your region on the App Store and on the subscription screen before you subscribe. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account settings.

Can I use Haelan alongside professional care?

Yes. You can use Haelan’s educational and wellbeing tools alongside your existing care, where appropriate. Your clinician’s advice should guide decisions about your symptoms, hearing protection, or sound practice. Haelan does not replace an individual assessment.
